This book was published in partnership with the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in 2020. It covers over 50 African American women who have had an incredible impact on the world. The women in this story range from Michelle Obama to Aretha Franklin. It goes all throughout history and describes influential pieces of the lives of the women. It is written in chapter book format but includes some pictures to keep readers engaged.

This book is targeted towards upper elementary as it uses language best for those grades. Although when I read it, it taught me a ton, so in actuality, anyone could read this book and probably learn a ton. This book can hopefully give hope to African American students and minority students as a whole. To see women of color on display for all the powerful things they did should be inspiring for many students, not just minority students. The book's information was very easy to understand and the information on each of the women was very clear cut and did not ever have too much fluff.
