She's able to gather her courage in order to attend school but decides that school is not right for her. She even hides under a table during class. But her new classmates and are able to convince her to come out and play with them. Luna decides school isn't so bad after all and is actually excited to show her strength when she attends school the next day.
This book is a bilingual picture book, as it has the story in English and Spanish on the same page. This book is best suited to early elementary students, as it is a picture book and only has around 30 pages. Luna's fears when attending school is something that everybody can relate to. Whether it's fear of starting a new school, job, or even just being in a different environment, everybody can relate to this story one way or another. This book could even spark a conversation in a classroom where students share how they felt on their first day of school that year compared to how they feel now. With this reflection, students can hopefully recognize how much they have been able to grow, just like Luna, as she is excited to attend school the following day.
